They are just mistaking his EAD card for PR card. My EAD was approved on April 27 and the status says
"Card production ordered/Oath Document sent".
It is just misleadig for a lot of people they can misread it as the PR card.

I lost my job.My 140 is approved and I 485 is over 180 days.I have 2 yr EAD .I was laid off on 6 th April and I see LUD on I-485 on 9 april.I am so much worried that I may get RFE.
What are my option if I get RFE on Employment before getting new job.How can I get my RFE from company lawyer becase Lawyer address is on my 485 Receipt.

I am 99.99 % confident that the soft LUD has nothing to do with your job loss. Had USCIS been that efficient to update our cases with in a couple of days of change request, we wouldn't have this messy immigration system. Lately, USCIS has been working aggresively to reduce the backlog of pending 485 applications applied during the July.2007 fiasco, by processing those applications. The "processing" means validating the application and the documentary evidences. If everything is fine with the application and the applicant's PD is also current, USCIS approves the I-485. If the PD is not current, USCIS preadjudicates the application and the application is kept pending until the PD becomes current. This triggers a soft update in LUD in I-485; besides, there are also several other scenarios that might trigger soft LUD in I-485.

Just received in mail - 2 Year EAD card for me and my wife. Valid till July 2010. I have e-filed myself for both of us. Still waiting for AP docs.

i am in similar situation for my wife too ... she entered in h4 but is working on EAD now. So, could someone plz let me know wat is her current immigration status ? cos, i don't see a status "EAD" on the dropdown when I try to eFile.
EAD is not a status like H-1 or H-4.
The status should be AOS , pending 485, etc.

Bank denied a consumer loan ,after approval due to immigration status specifically they said no loan unless you are a citizen. i am a permanent resident , leaving in the US for over 15 years. Applying for naturalization this year. Also the same bank had approved a consumer loan 2 years ago and now they say "oh we made a mistake then". Case or no case? I think I have been discriminated against.
Some one please help him.. I dont know what to do...

I am sure many of you don't know about TANA organization ( www.tana.org ). TANA is held every 2 years in one of the major cities in US, and for 2009 TANA is scheduled to happen in Chicago.
"TANA IS GOING TO CELEBRATE 2009 CONFERENCE IN CHICAGO AT DONALD E STEPHENS CONVENTION CENTER, ROSEMONT FROM JULY 02, 2009 TO JULY 04, 2009. "
They usually get around 12,000 to 15,000 guest of Telugu speaking people. The point i would like to make is to increase the exposure of to IV, we need to put up a booth in TANA 2009. I have attended TANA organization committee meeting on Sunday, 29 2008 and have spoken to them about IV. TANA has several stage shows, booth for business , food stalls and much more. TANA Chicago org will be needing some help( not sure what at this time ). but if we can help them so that they give us some exposure in the TANA 2009. it will be really great.
Secondly, we can have our own booth which will cost some money we can get lot of publicity.
This is just a idea and a i think it is a win-win for both of us. Let me know what you guys think.

If employer is asking pay cut becuase he is in trouble, you should change the job. I don't think he will do anything (or pay you douple), if you are in trouble even if he is making good money. Move on..

The article is not very clear. It sounds like this will cause more trouble than benefit us. The 485 filing will be based on PD after pre-registration is cleared, so people who were originally eligible to apply for 485, EAD and AP when PD is current will lose the EAD/AP benefits during pre-registration process.

i was wonderign if anyoenhas done it? and what are the risk factors in changing from non rir to rir?
My pd is oct2002? nothign heard after teh 45 day letter....

There is no -ve impact on coverting to RIR. If RIR is denied, you will still be processed as TR. You wont loose your PD

Yes, and if the present company knows you are leaving, less the chances of them providing you a copy of I-140 :(. Is there a way to get a screenshot if you know your reciept number?

Well its just wasting GC numbers as this person is leaving US anyways, why GC???
I have seen many people leave US after once they get their GC, how stupid is that?
i have not come across any success stories of USCIS to CP move.
Also, i am not sure if the company must keep an empty chair for you..till you complete the CP process.
I was told that as long as the firm can give a letter stating that the job will be offered once you get ur GC..that should be good enough.
you are venturing into the unknown jungles....;-) ..best of luck

I took some photos today in poor light (please, sun...) and had to use ISO 800 to get decent shutter speeds. However, I find this isn't really useful with small birds as the noise basically covers a lot of detail. I find it difficult to on the one hand remove enough noise from the background so sharpening doesn't amplify it too much, and on the other hand leave enough noise so the feather details don't get smoothed out. So, what I did was use the magnetic lasso tool to select the bird (and inversely everything else), and used more Neat Image on the background than on the bird. I wonder if this couldn't be a trick to save some borderline images.
I'd appreciate if you'd critique these two images: do they look very unnatural to you? It does give almost a 3D effect, but I think I may have gone too far on the backgrounds.

Thanks to Thomachan (for highlighting why legal immigrant's children should be considered in the Dream Act) and Sanju ( for focussing on the key decision makers who can influence this). I am sure we can make atleast an attempt to get this included. :). This will help legal immigrants with children in high school and college to a large extent.
