can u do this? I have contributed $50.00 so far. I think good way is to create spreadsheet showing member names and contributions, make link to it. Whoever wants to see, they can always look it. But I think we should not make it mandatory to contribute for becoming a member. Any advice / opinion is valuable for IV.

possible reason for mysterious rejections :
You are a mail room guy, you go home friday (06/29) and comeback on monday (06/02).
You start the monkey business of timestamping incoming mail, but half an hours into the day (around 8 or 9:00 am), you realize "sshhttt: i did not change the date on my stamp, its still read 06-29-2007". In the classical govt. fashion, you do not bother to go back and restamp the applications with the correct datetime. Not because you are evil, but because you simply don't understand the ramifications of early stamping. You think u are doing the guy a favor, putting him/her early in line.. but guess what... the guy's application is gonna get rejected.
Could this be the case with some apps mysteriously being rejected?

I got my Wife's and son's passports renewed at NY. I printed the phtos on the computer. My wife's i mailed it(got it back in 1 week). My sons i went to NY. If you go before 11AM, you can collect it back same evening. I did this almost 18 months ago.

Believe me that would give you more options, no problems while traveling, no tie up with your employer, no H1B's, no LC, No 140, no 485, no AC21, no advance parole paper work. You will be a free bird in this great nation. I thought that it was only in African and Asian countries that you beak the law and get away with it but here the lawmakers are encouraging the LEGAL's tax paying law abiding to do that. And most of the time these individuals are best and brightest in their fields.

I'm on H1, I decided recently to buy a house after I stayed more than 5 years in this country and gave an offer to purchase it . I will drop now as I'm feeling unsecured in this country of immigrants and with it's protectionist policy against Indian Talents in this 21st century. It will also influence all of my friends who are also potentially looking to buy houses . I wonder why your lawyer is asking you to change the number of years. your hiring manager should be the one comming up with Job Description and Justification. May be he already has one and all you need to do is send it over to your lawyer

He would recommend either 2 year or 0 year work experience for this position with M.S. degree. Accordingly, we come down to 2 years with M.S. degree. After receiving the audit letter, my lawyer said I should have put 0 year instead of 2 years. I was also told by my lawyer to give him the answer about the following questions:
1. Why does the company require 2 years of work experience?
2. Why does the company require M.S. degree for this position?
3. Why does all skills and programs require for this position?
4. How long it take to obtain those skills and programs?
I�m very confused and have no idea what to answer why the company require M.S. degree since it is the requirement. Have anybody also have the format of the audit letter?

The possibility of lame duck sessions of Congress began in 1935, when the 20th Amendment1 to the U.S. Constitution2 took effect. Under this amendment, ratified in 1933, regular sessions of Congress begin on January 3 of each year, unless Congress passes a law in the previous session changing the date. Also, the terms of members begin and end on January 3 of odd-numbered years. Under these arrangements, any meeting of Congress between election day in an even-numbered year and the following January 3 is considered a lame duck session.
Why lame duck sessions are bad
Lame duck sessions are never desirable. Defeated lame duck lawmakers, knowing they will not have jobs in the new Congress, either tend to "just go through the motions" while debating and voting on remaining important legislation or, in worse cases, attempt to hinder or even damage the lawmaking process. On the state level, the legislatures of only 11 states even allow lame duck sessions.
By far the most dismal scenario for a lame duck session is whenever one of the two major political parties has taken away majority control of one or both houses of Congress from the other party, as happened after the 2006 mid-term election, when the Democrats won control of both the House and Senate from the Republicans. In these instances, with political tempers already running hot, the temptation for lame duck members to vent their frustrations by working to stall good bills, while turning bad bills into worse laws, becomes even greater.
Why lame duck sessions happen
Once rare, lame duck sessions have become all too common. The final days of the 109th Congress in November and December of 2006 became the 16th lame duck session since 1940.
The typical "target" date for the annual adjournment of each session of Congress is during the first week in October. The target adjournment date has become a total myth in recent years. The first session of the 109th Congress, for example, did not achieve final adjournment until Dec. 22, 2005.
During far too many recent years, the main reason for lame duck sessions has been Congress' failure to complete its work on the spending, or "appropriations" bills that form the basis of the annual federal budget. By law, the federal budget process3, including passage of the spending bills, begins the first Monday in February of each year and should be concluded by October 1st, the start of the federal government's Federal Fiscal Year. Failing to pass the spending bill by October 1, Congress is compelled to pass "continuing resolutions4," legislation that allows the government operate temporarily without an approved budget at the previous year's spending levels.
Lame duck sessions: some bad, some not so bad
Some sessions are not particularly productive, often because of political disputes and the difficulties of reaching legislative decisions in a post-election environment. I hope IV does push for the 485 measure but if for whatever reason they change there mind and dont push for 485, I would be disappointed but that will in no way affect my attitude towards IV. Over the past year or so I have seen enough of core tem to say they take a decision in the best intrest of IV.
I have not filed for I-485 and neither am I close. I feel I-485 is much more controversial interim relief then most members think. This is explained in a post (from a law firm) in another forum. Another reason for my feeling is that AILA is not supporting I-485 filing for health care: they are supporting a temporary 25K-75K increase in GCs. It is possible that health care GC does not have I-485.
You have to choose an issue that has a chance of getting through rather then an issue that most persons want or is logical. I will be surprised if I-485 filing as interim interim relief reaches the bill state and/or the bill gets approved in Senate + Congress.
I do not consider this to be a reason to move away from IV. I agree with some requests that require IV to explain their finances and dis-agree with some IV decisions. In particular, I very strongly dis-agree with some topics + language + tone allowed in the forums. As we are seeing, it is turning people away from IV.

What happens to an employee at any company who has done something positive but has been caught abusing his colleagues a few times. He gets warned by HR first and then gets fired right.
We have lot of things to focus on to get relief for our community and there is no reason to tolerate this behaviour towards fellow members.
