Hi Gurus please advice,
My 140 was approved in 2007 ,but today i got email from USCIS ,
Application Type: I140, IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR ALIEN WORKER
Current Status: Case Transfered to Another Office for Processing
On May 12, 2009, we transferred this case I140 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR ALIEN WORKER to our LINCOLN, NE location for processing and sent you a notice explaining this action. Please follow the instructions provided on the notice. We will notify you by mail when a decision is made. If you move while this case is pending, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283 to update your address. You can use our processing dates to estimate when your case may be processed by following the link below. You can also receive automatic e-mail updates as we process your case by registering in the link below.
Any idea, what would be the possible reason for this? Please advice.
BTW I recently applied for EAD extension.
I suggest you call the number given. Seems to me there was a mistake.
I remember getting a similar email for H1B some 2-3 years back even though my H1 was approved and I already received the I797. No issues though, they just sent another I797. :)
I guess this can happen if their Database was restored to an older backup. So they had to go thru some of the processing again.

It was just what i needed to make my mind...i am bored to death in this small town finishing my waiver hoping for this piece of legislation.( no hopes of my EB2 anyway:rolleyes:).

I was in the same situation where I came on B1 and then moved to H1 after a years wait here. Ultimately got my EAD and AP. Still i was reluctant to travel down to INdia, but had to do to attend a marriage of my wife's brother. So finally after 8 yrs, I went to India and I took all necessary documentation including AP, 485 receipt, H1 approval notice, paystubs. Getting through IAD was a breeze and did not take more than 10 minutes. So don't worry and as long as your AP is valid, you should not worry much.

I pray that the DOS advances the cut-off dates and get my I-485 approved by March - because I don't get excited at all by these immigration reform bills. There are 12-25 million illegal aliens in this country. 10,000+ crosses the border on daily basis.
I predict that the USCIS will be very, very busy processing guest-worker permits for all those people and my I-485 process would be put on hold again.

U.S. Rep. John Boehner of Ohio was picked to replace DeLay as majority leader on Thursday, and immigration legislation is high on his agenda, Cannon told Utah legislators.
He said legislation for a guest worker program should emerge soon that could include requirements for English instruction and health insurance.
"That should be done by, I hope, the end of April," Cannon said.
His comments came in response to a question from state Sen. Howard Stephenson, R-Draper, who criticized Congress' "absolute failure" to provide a process for regulating immigrant labor. Cannon also expressed sympathy for the struggles of state legislators who must balance budgets even when the federal government cuts revenue -- for programs like Medicaid, for example -- that had been provided previously.
"The pain of that is great," he said. "I would love to tell you we're never going to cut your budget again."
His proposed solution is to reduce the size and authority of the federal government: "The best way to govern in America is to let the states do it," he said.
Cannon made those comments on the Senate floor after answering three different questions from representatives on the House floor: How do we get the federal government out of our hair? When will federal government allow us to make more decisions on what we fund? and Why is federal government always overriding states' rights?
Cannon said the solution is to keep the money within state budgets, because as long as federal government has it, they share accountability.
He said the will in the U.S. House is to give states more discretion

There is no problem re-entering with a valid AP, even if the validity date is the day you re-enter.
You will have a problem if your AP is expired. My daughter came back with just one month on her AP and she was stamped with extra 6 months on I-94. But I don't know the reason for that.

You will be able to plead hardship based on humanitarian grounds and family unity to get your spouse into the US, if you already have a GC provided the GC holder is doing work in the national interest of the US (physician, scientist, et al) .At least, there is a solution to this particular problem.
There is no solution, other than legislative change to the objectives listed by the IV team.

i have given blood probably 10-12 times.
Red Cross may not have taken you blood for other reasons not because you are an immigrant , one major reason to deny blood donation is travel
outside US to a country that still has widesspread malaria.
India and most Southeast asian coutries among such countries is one such issues.
Please dont spread incorrect information.
I have volunteered in sports event, donated blood, build houses as volunteer and have been part of volunteer trail maintainance.....and i am an immigrant.
This country is one of the most independent and free countries on face of earth.

There are lot of places which will not take blood if you have not stayed here for 5years. It generally takes 5years for any antigens to get out of system. So some places have rule of thumb for 5years. Now when you are immigrant from India, it is taken for granted to question your length of stay.
There are lot of places which will accept blood from everybody for lack of donors and do their own screenings. It depends on funding/urgent need. I am sure there was no intention of denial based on immigration status/race.

Guys,
I did 3 Years Diploma in Computer Science after 10+2(Non Medical) from India and I have about 16 years of experience in IT. I am thinking of using this education to complete my Bachelors here in US. I would like to know what would my education equate to US Education.
I need an Idea how many courses I would have to take to complete the Bachelors? Please share any tips that would help me take less number of courses.It's not easy with kids.
