This is a very good point.
Given that the 5/6 year timeframe is being already mentioned for illegal immigrants, it should be easy to have this extended for all immigrants who qualify as of the date of implementation of this bill.

Report: Lou Dobbs employed illegal immigrants
Lou Dobbs has long railed against illegal immigration and the employers who hire undocumented workers. Dobbs generated controversy and faced boycotts for attacking "illegal aliens" as host of a nightly CNN show. And since leaving the network in December, Dobbs has kept talking about the issue in interviews, in which he's also left open the possibility of running for senator or president.
But Dobbs might want to pause before making illegal immigration a signature campaign issue: At least five illegal immigrants have reportedly worked on his properties.
The liberal Nation magazine, in a yearlong investigation conducted with the Investigative Fund at the Nation Institute, found that "Dobbs has relied for years on undocumented labor for the upkeep of his multimillion-dollar estates and the horses he keeps for his 22-year-old daughter, Hillary, a champion show jumper."
The Nation's Isabel Macdonald writes that while Dobbs has bashed employers for hiring immigrants without papers, he "has been far from vigilant about the status of workers laboring on his own properties." (The Nation has long editorialized against Dobbs and those who agree with him on immigration.)
Dobbs owns a 300-acre estate in Sussex, N.J., and a winter home in West Palm Beach, Fla. His daughter keeps five show horses worth about $1 million each at several stables; the horses are owned by the Dobbs Group, of which Lou Dobbs is president.
Macdonald spoke with several immigrants who were employed to work on winter property and helped with the upkeep of Dobbs' horses at stables in Vermont and Florida. "I looked after Dobbs' horses while I was illegal," said one man. Another worker said that he believed Hillary Dobbs knew they didn't have papers. (The workers did not give their real names for fear of deportation.)
Macdonald wrote that another worker worked on the garden at Dobbs' Florida property. On one occasion, that worker said, Lou Dobbs who referred to himself as "Luis" instructed him in Spanish to talk to his boss about moving a specific plant. Macdonald interviewed other immigrants who worked at the holiday home.
Hillary Dobbs did not comment for the article. And Lou Dobbs, through a radio producer on "The Lou Dobbs Show," declined to comment. Robert Zeller, Dobbs' attorney, said Dobbs would answer questions only on his live radio show; the Nation agreed to be on the show, but only after publication.
Dobbs has not yet responded to a request from The Upshot to discuss the allegations, which are sure to get attention given the commentator's very public views on the subject. The Nation compiled a video of Dobbs' past statements

Even some Attorney's and Law firm says you can start working once you FedEx document to USCIS or Receipt of FedEx at USCIS. Its always good to wait until you get Receipt number from USICS which is an official document.

Hopefully your attitude is a little better towards actual potential customers, who are business people, who need marketing help in the specific industry that you are in.

I think if you never entered on a non-immigrant visa (in your case H1) after overstaying previous Non-immigrant visa (F1), you could still be in trouble. My understanding is that they wan to see your continued legal presence and maintenance of status from your last entry thru the day when you applied I-485. If the only time you entered US since Jan 2003 is on AP then you might be in trouble.
This is based on my reading up other posts on IV and may not be accurate.

No bill was introduced in Senate. Where is the question of voting? If anti immigrants some how make waste these 2 weeks of time in Senate then there will not be enough time to discuss. Now 60% chance. If no bill is introduced in Senate before end of may it will come down to 40%.
The S 9 was introduced in the first day of senate..
They are gonna fill up the language any time they like...
One fine day you are gonna wake up and find the bill getting debated...

Those who want to send flowers to Condi and those who do not.
There is quite a number of people, who do not feel that this is "over-doing"
Lets stop discussing and fix the date (7/17 is good enough) and send it
If you think that this a bad idea, we respect your views and you may not send
How do convert this thread into the poll

Thanks Guys. This was what me and my attorney were thinking. The reason why the officer asks my advanced degree is misleading inspite of the fact that my labor (as well as advt)was for bachelors +5 years experience and didnt mention anything about advanced degree.
To answer your question ,yes i had about 7.5 years experience (about 6.5 at Indian Branch office and others else where) before joining current company in US.
Attorney has mentioned we will argue my bachelors degree + 5 years experience is equivalent.
BTB is it mandatory to have Masters in Labour? Wont bachelors+5 years experience be enough?

Congratulations!
It is quite normal to have few weeks for card production ordered. Enjoy your freedom.
I got the following message from USCIS:

I received this message on Feb 10. But I haven't recieved any CPO or any other email yet. Is this normal? Is my case finally approved?

Here's a killer.
- Applied for EAD and AP renewal for self, spouse and child (total 5 apps) with a RD of July 22 and ND of July 23, 2008.
- When I would check the case status online for my renewal apps, I kept getting a message "Case Retreival falied. Receipt # DOES NOT EXIST":eek::eek:
- GC approved on Aug 9
- Lawyer gets a copy of my Approval Notice for I-485 on August 20 and sends a copy to me by overnight mail ALONG with the renewal AP which was approved on August 18 - a good nine days after GC approval:confused::confused::confused:
- No idea where my EAD apps are!!! not that it matters
GAWD - Some serious system fixes need to be done at USCIS......
Congrats!!!
I am happy for you. This wait and hope when the dates are current is very taxing. may lady luck smile on me too

6) The simple logic is, eb1 has higher qualifications than eb2, and eb2 has more qualifications compared to eb3. If you believe they treat everyone the same, then be happy and stick with your belief. That's true. Also EB3 cases are the easiest, EB2 a little more complex and EB1 the most complex. USCIS officers tend to do easiest job more often ;)

Hi Friends,
My maternal uncle filed PR for my parents and the priority date is: 06/24/2002.
The date of approval of I-130: 03/12/2008
My age was 20 years and 5 days as on 06/24/2002. I am currently working in USA on H1B visa. So can I apply for Green card with change of status with my parent's I-130 with Child Status Protection Act?
Thanks,

Looks like the EB2 dates for india have retrogressed by two years. I am applying for green card and would like to know if I shouls go with EB2 or EB3.
Thanks for your help...
Truth:
------
USCIS has decided to keep EB2/3-IN,China,Mexico,Philipines applicants in virtual jail for an average 7 to 10 years. So in reality it does not matter what you choose. Whatever you select you will be at mercy of USCIS. Only one thing you should do, in my opinion, not to become monkey if your real goal is to achieve GC in short span of 4 to 5 years. As you hop trees add more number of years per hop. By the way this is the first month you see EB2 retrogressed.
EB3 was in hell for last 4 years. So I am seeing at least 2 years for EB3 moving fast. Your category will be in real effect after at least 4 years of your filing and you can not predict what will happen after 4 years. Only one action is in your control and that is not to hop seeing short term gain."Exploitation from employer" OR "Temporarily seeing particular catgory moving fast or slow" are not good reasons for hoping in the path what USCIS has defined. SO if you try to cross that then you will be in this hell for more years. Whatever you select stick to it till the day you get your GC.

I guess I was doing this technique before I knew it's offical name, here's the last shot I recall.
http://www.dphoto.us/forumphotos/showphoto.php/photo/40657/ppuser/931
Silly me, I did it the hard way, hand held.
P.S. Jeff, don't feel bad, I started out with one of those cheap Wal-Mart tripods too. Now that I have a good one the old cheap one comes in handy for my remote flash. So don't throw it out you may be able to reuse it one day.
