I got my FP done on 11/21.I did open a SR on 10/05, based on which I got my FP notice on 11/06.
My details:
485 filed at NSC on July 6th
Receipting done by CSC on 09/05, EAD and AP sent by CSC
485 pending at NSC
Looks like they have started the FPs for transferred cases like ours...

Last time Hillary introduced a bill for giving gc to spouses of gc persons. They rejected because republicans think it will add hundreds of thousands new immigrants. Basically they do not want to add new numbers. Best time is at the time CIR lobbying can be done

But
GC guy can't support status if H1 spouse lost job and became out of status
GC guy can't support status if F1 spouse becames out of status
GC guy can't bring spouse from home country
UNLESS SPOUSE/Kids goes through complete F2A visa process (several years)
It can make life of GC spouse miserable (of course GC guy also). Imagine GC-H1 marriage, H1 out of status after loss of job. After loss of status, H1 spouse has to return, but GC spouse will try to remain in USA for own status and in hope to bring spouse back after getting citizenship.

That is expected based on the number of I140s that would have been approved and ready for adjudication. Also, with priority dates moving forward, more applications from earlier dates come into play and the processing dates move back.
Hopefully, they start moving forward soon and go over the July / August 2007 hump.
With USCIS what isnt odd! :).

I work for security industry (database auditing) and i do know the concerns and security related issues.
Here USCIS may be sending the information of one applicant to the other applicant. This may happen with a probability of 1 in 100.
Now tell me, what will you or i be doing with someone else's data?
Atleast skilled immigrants like us will not harm and or destroy knowingly someone else's credit history. This will not only destroy your future citizenship options but will also lead to deportation in case you are caught.
Also, there will no credit card numbers and or bank account details to be lost.
One more thing is, you can always fight back and reverse the screw up that may happen in case your social security number is misused and you have a proof of it.
By saying this, what iam saying is, the threat is not as serious as the thread author seems to indicate. There are bigger concerns on our plate who needs our attention.
Unless the USCIS mistakenly publishes your data on website and or looses hard disk with all the data in it at walmart, you shouldn't be worried.

Hello,

What will be my status after i file my I485?
My current I-94 will expire on 16th Sep 2007 (on the day my current visa stamp in my passport expires and my current H1 B is set to expire Mid April 2008).
I am planning to make a trip to Cannda or someplace to get a new I-94 as soon as i get my new passport (i had sent it for renewal on june 2nd). But i am a little worried about my status if i am unable to make the trip.
So my question is what will be my status after 16th sep 2007 (once i file for I485 (first week of July2007) and my I-94 expires on 16th Sep 2007)?
Appreciate any responses ...
After you file 485 you are in AOS so you can file for AP and use that to get back into US. Once in AOS it doesn't matter if your H1B expired or I94 is expired as you will be in status. However to work you will need EAD.
To enter reenter US you should have a H1B visa stamp which is valid or have an AP. If you use your AP you will have to use EAD to continue working. Another option is to get a new H1B stamp based on your current H1B petition which is valid till april 2008.

I am in the same boat. My EB-2 PERM came for audit on November 28th. We are still waiting to reply by the deadline which is December 19th. I got the same request from DOL(business necessity letter + recruitment efforts). I can only say this, The DOL audit's increased since October 2007 after closing all backlog elimination centers. Almost 50% of cases filed came back for audit. Audit is nothing but just request for documentation. So if you reply for the audit, you can expect a reply within 60 days. I am on my 19th month on H1B.
