I just bought a new D70 and was interested in getting some advise from current owners about additional lenses and accessories.
Was looking at buying a SB-800 flash. Is this the best option?
How about additional lenses? I have an 18-70mm AF that came with the camera.
I am looking for other nikkor lenses that are very handy to have, meaning won't sit in the bag most of the time.
Any other advice or help would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Shawn

 I got very anxious when my co lawyer told me that I got a query from INS.
I recently transfered my H1 to current employer and started working for him. Even I got receipt number. When I last tracked the number in INS web site it says mail has been sent out asking for more information.
Company lawyer told me to produce all my paystubs ever since I started to work in US.
I am wondering will this cause any issue. Is this a normal procedure ?
Please help me, if any has any kind of information. Please share with me. My Id madhyastha@yahoo.com
Thanks,
Sreenath

Guys,
If we cannot even contribute $10 PER MONTH, that is really really cheap of us.
eb3,
with all due respect, I really doubt if this is the bet way to get people to donate. Calling people cheap is not a nice thing and generally not recommended.
I know your intentions are good and ...

only members who have not yet contributed use this thread to tell others why you have not made a decision on contribution. Again contribution to IV is not mandatory.
We have 20K members and 1-2k contributors. So this thread should see at least 15k members with their views on IV.
Below are some posts you could use. This will help.
1. I dont want to contribute.
2. I want to contribute but not now, may be later.
3. I am planning to contribute.
4. How to contribute, I dont know.
5. I will contrubute right now.
etc etc.
I know, not even a single response will be posted to this thread. :)

Thank so much for your reply. However, this was my first attempt with the camera so I used new batteries (six). Nontheless, I will try to change it.
Thanks.

Billboard - i understand your employer's concern - when I used AC21 back in 2003, with EAD, it was a struggle to get employers that would take me on - for similar concerns. I eventually found one, a startup in CA, that would. Their attitude was that their HR people tagged the expiration date of every doc, type of doc and immigration status of every employee they accepted for I-9 purposes, and had it enetered into a database linked to their mail system - every week it would email out to HR a list of docs that would expire for non-citizens and HR then worked with those folks to make sure docs like EAD's were being renewed etc.
A little proactive due diligence, common sense and not so modern technology will easily help keep the employer comliant and more receptive to folk on EAD.
I eventually got my GC from these same guys and this month will file N-400 for citizenship.

Yes I did, but did not get a dual card. It says on the card - "Not Valid For Reentry to US" - my guess its not dual.
Did you say 2007!? and you haven't rcvd EAD cards till now!. Did you check with USCIS?

we've asked for changes which require laws/amendments to be enacted. This has so far, not got us anywhere. What about asking for more liberal interpretations of the present laws? This can be done with something as simple as a memo sent by USCIS director. What can we ask for-
1) Portability for all cases where I - 140 is approved for 180 days, and the co. is unable to file for 485 because of retrogression.
2) ability to maintain priority dates incase labor is filed for more than 365 days and the employee is forced to change jobs - even though the i 140 is not approved because of delays at the BPCs
3) I guess asking for an EAD incase I-140 is approved for 180 days will be too much?

I went online to change address.
It didn't ask for pending case#'s anywhere.
I tried calling customerservice but I get this message that CSR work only between 8-6 Mon-Fri and is asking me to call back later though I called at 10am.
Today is a holiday for them then for Veteran's Day. I'm not surprised they're closed.

anyone having inputs to the query below:
Adding to the scenario above, what if the old company (which got I-140 approval) agress to continue the GC process? In that case, can't we apply for H1 extension with Company B using approved I-140 with Company A? After all, GC is a future employment application

Guys,
Your help/guidance is needed on this strange situation.
I am still in India and I have got my H1B1 approved thru one employer. I am waiting on few documents from my employer who is in US. I am still waiting for these documents so that I can go for Visa stamping.
Apparantly, this employer is causing some issues in giving me all my supporting documents.
My question: can I find some other employer and transfer my H1B1 and then go for stamping thru this new employer?
You experience, knowledge will be appreciated.
Thanks,
pan123
Of ourse you can always find a new employer!
However, I hear people talking about it all the time, there is no such thing as a transfer as if you could port your visa to a new company.
Whenever you want to switch jobs, you have to apply for a whole new H1.
Having one already does not make things faster or easier, except when you are already in the US. In this case, you can switch jobs as soon as you file the new H1, you don't have to wait for approval. However, there is a big risk:
what if the new H1 is denied? You already quit your previous employer and cannot work for the new one anymore...Then you are in big trouble.
In your situation, just file a new H1 with a new employer, that's it.

Microsoft had better bundle the Silverlight plugin with Windows 7. And it had better be available on bloody Opera. Great platform as I see it, terrible penetration right now.

Hi experts,
Can someone help me in this regards. Awaiting eagerly for ur expert comments.
Regards
Now I see why you keep asking the same question...you started the thread.
Ok, here you go...
1. It doesn't matter how many years experience you have. Unless the job requires EB2 level requirements, you cannot apply EB2. If the job has the requirements and your education/exp match that...then you are EB2.
2. To your question yes you can file new EB2 without affecting your 485. Now, the problems you would face are at Labor and 140 stage trying to prove that your new job reqs are significantly different from the original. After that, changing 485 is not diffcult...(even if it's approved).
